Goals for 2019

Goal Setting

Goal setting is something I love to do and something I do often. To me, it’s important to regularly update your goals. I’m huge on visualization and it’s the starting point for how I structure my goals. I see myself in the future and where I want to be. Then I bring myself back to the present and take small steps daily to get me there.

Another part of the visualization process is writing your goals down and keeping them in front of you. Share them and be held accountable. Create a vision board and hang it up in your room and office. Listen to motivational videos on YouTube. Do whatever it takes to help you inch closer everyday. I do all of the above and find it so helpful.

Strive to be better than you were yesterday. Do this every single day and you’ll be amazed at where you’re at even a year from now.

I try to improve all aspects of my life. Below are all my goals written down for the next year.

My Goals  for 2019

Physical Health
Goal:
12% body fat percentage

I truly believe a healthy mind needs a healthy body. Throughout my 30’s I’ve always thought that if I live to be 80+ I want to be in great physical shape and plan to be working out consistently even at that age. I want to have healthy habits now to give me the best chances to do that. Most importantly, staying in shape keeps you feeling good, confident, brings clarity to the mind, and is a natural anti-depressant.  At this age, getting 12% body fat is not an easy feat. It will take a lot of hard work. As of now (Oct 2018), I’m probably a little of 20%. Here is what I plan on doing to reach that goal:

Objective
Run 15 miles a week
Eat healthy
No sugar
Yoga 3 times a week
Lift weights at least 4 times a week
Jiu Jitsu
————————–

Continuous Education
Goal:
3 books a month

If you read an hour a day to improve your knowledge and skillset in one focused craft, imagine how better you’d be in a year…2 years…3…etc. As you’ve probably heard, it takes 10,000 hours to master a craft and be acknowledged as an expert. Reading an hour a day and putting it into practice will get you there in a few short years. It’s not too late to start! Make reading a priority and get it out of the way early in the morning before anyone else wakes up. It’s a great start to the day.
Objective
Read one hour per day

Learn Something New
Goal: Blue Belt in BJJ

Objective
Go to class 3-4 times per week
————————–
Goal

Meditate for 30 minutes straight

Objective
Meditate every day

Business Goal

Make $200k a month with my software development business

Objective
Log 500 developer hours per week

And of course…jump off of Stari Most Bridge
